Sustainability
We encourage everyone to be closer to nature, and to learn to live in a harmonious and circular way. It is our collective responsibility to ensure that we also give back to the earth.
From our zero waste kitchen philosophy to our plastic free and reusable packaging, we aim to offer our community a way towards a zero-waste lifestyle, by sourcing and selling items we think will make a difference.
All our current organic waste is sent to our farm to feed our Jersey and Guernsey dairy cows.
We are also single-use cup free for all our hot coffees that we serve at our Torba Deli and our coffee van during market season.
We are also focusing on the message of less consumption. This season we are using a selection of pre-loved furniture for our market set up, encouraging reusable containers with takeaway food, and providing free water with our refill station. We are always thinking of ways to reduce waste.
Our Glass Recycle Program
Our aim is to keep all our Torba Market jars and bottles in circulation and out of landfills and to lead a truly circular economy.
Got a Torba jar or bottle?
Keep them all, give them a wash and return them to our location in Duhail. Lids not needed. We’ll tally up your items and calculate your discount on your next Torba purchase. Pop the glass items into our recycling box in our courtyard.
We clean, reuse and keep them in circulation. No jars get thrown.
