Ethically sourced and planet friendly

“First, do no harm” is a phrase we live by. That includes ensuring all the products sourced do not contain harmful ingredients. We prioritise anything that has been created in consideration of Mother Earth.

Regional, regenerative, and seasonal farming

At some point, farming was abandoned and we began relying on the industrial farm complex to produce our food to ever-decreasing nutritional value. We are helping to change that. We support local and regional bio-dynamic farming that is sustainable. Torba guarantees that your food choice helps both our community health and the health of the planet!

Our Story

Fatma, our founder, had a childhood of exploring and living on the family farm, started to worry about the disconnect of where our food comes from and the connection to the people who make our food. This context inspired the birth of Torba Market.

Torba Market became the first artisan farmers market in Doha, Qatar. Our market in 2017 was simple but quickly became a winter favorite. Wooden booths lined up with farmers and local artisans, handwritten blackboard signs scattered around the produce, under canvas style tents. Soon, Torba became that place where people knew and trusted to provide and source only the best of the best our region has to offer.

We moved online in 2022, to focus on local artisan products, and sourcing organic and ethically produced products that were difficult to find in Qatar.

We are driven to be that place for the conscious shopper, who like us, are tired of the BS of flashy packaging and marketing speak that just doesn’t tell the whole truth. We are not just about knowing our producers, but we really get into the ingredients as well. The smaller the amount of ingredients the better.

We find purpose in promoting, accessible and affordable organic food and products with an emphasis on community building and supporting local.

Fatma Al Khater’s ability to encourage our collective responsibilities to the environment, urge us to start our own sustainability journeys, and to educate us about our inherent need to reconnect with our food and where it comes from is crucial to Torba’s identity.
